Tourist Visas
The following specifics are provided about Brazilian tourist visas in addition to the information you can find on our general information and fees page. Email us if you have any additional questions. You may also want to check our our customer testimonials.

1.  A passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from date of intended arrival in Brazil. We can renew U.S. passports. Duration of visa validity is determined by the Consulate General on a case-by-case basis. Travel must commence within 90 days of the visa being issued.

2.   For better service - include a completed Brazil Fiesta Visa Information Form to provide us with more details on mailing your material back to you.

3.  A Visa Application must be submitted for each individual requesting a visa. The application must be printed and signed with an original signature by the holder of the passport requesting the visa. Parents should fill out and sign applications for children under the age of 18.

4.  Include one passport-type photo (2"x 2") in either color or black and white. These shots should be face-forward with a white or black background. Snapshots and computer generated prints (ie. personal color printer) will not be accepted by the Consulate.

5.  Include a copy (do not include originals) of travel tickets or itineraries showing your travel into and out of Brazil. The information must include the passenger's name, flight numbers and dates (or cruise details), as well as confirmation of travel arrangements.

6.  Children under 18 who are traveling alone must provide a notarized letter from his/her parents authorizing the Consulate to issue a visa. Children traveling with only one of their parents must supply a notarized letter from the other parent authorizing the issuance of the visa. You can alternatively provide proof of sole custody (can include court custody papers) or a birth certificate with the single parent's name solely on the form. NEW - as of 4/15/03: ALL minors applying for a Brazilian visa must provide a photocopy of their birth certificate along with all other required documents. Please contact us if you have additional questions.

7.  A Certificate of vaccination against polio is required for children between ages of three months and six years. If the child cannot be inoculated, a notarized letter from the child's physician will be required.

8.  Proof of Yellow Fever vaccination must be provided for any applicant who shows travel into Brazil, during any part of their trip, from one of the following countries: Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina, Cameroon, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Peru, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Venezuela. This includes any trips from or including deep Amazon cruises.

9.  US Citizens are required to pay a $130.00 Consulate fee for the processing of their visas. In addition to the Consulate fee, there is a $10.00 fee charged by the Consulate for applications not presented in person by the passport holder. Please submit an official US Postal Service money order made payable to the Brazilian Consulate for $140.00 (news)- multiple Consulate fees can be paid with the same money order. Brazil Fiesta's service fee for regular tourist visas is $50.00 (made payable to Al Monteiro). Return shipping fees are also made payable to Al Monteiro. You can download our Visa Information Form. Brazil Fiesta service fees must be paid with check or money order. Please see our fees for rush services and contact us about group rates.

10.  Fees for non-US passport holders vary. Please contact us for details regarding price and requirements for your country of citizenship.

11.  It takes anywhere between 3 to 10 business days for us to receive visas back from the Consulate after submission, depending on the Consulate as well as time of year. Our service utilizes USPS Priority Mail or USPS Express Mail to ship your documents back to you. You can request USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation or USPS Express Mail with our Visa Information Form.

12.  Include an official US Postal Service money order made payable to the Brazilian Consulate at $140.00 per tourist visa. Brazil Fiesta service fee payments can be made directly to Al Monteiro with check or money order. Include a copy of our Visa Information Form.

13.  Brazil Fiesta has associate relationships with partners nationwide to cover all Consulate jurisdictions, including the Brazilian Embassy in Washington D.C. We process all of these visas from our San Francisco address. Please contact us for additional details.
